Burmese Ruby Diamond Marguerite Ring
Burmese Ruby Diamond Marguerite Ring
An exceptional contemporary interpretation of the traditional marguerite ring, centred on a 2.78-carat natural Burmese ruby of remarkable presence, accompanied by independent gemmological reports from Gübelin and the GIA confirming its Myanmar origin and the absence of heat treatment.
Commissioned from Brussels jeweller Luc Pagnoul in 2026, the ring is crafted in 18-carat white and yellow gold. Its oval ruby is framed by eight brilliant-cut diamonds, delicately interspersed with smaller round rubies, while diamond-set shoulders complete the composition.
The eight principal diamonds, individually certified by the GIA, have a combined weight of 1.91 carats, with F–G colours, VS2–SI1 clarities and no fluorescence. Their carefully balanced arrangement creates a luminous contrast with the deep red of the central gemstone.
The design draws inspiration from a Marguerite ring by the historic Belgian jewellery house Wolfers, reinterpreting its floral composition through a distinctive combination of rubies and diamonds.
The Burmese Ruby
Weighing 2.78 carats, the oval ruby was previously offered at Bonhams New York in December 2025, from a private collection identified as Property of a New York Lady.
Its Burmese origin and untreated-by-heat status are independently documented by two internationally recognised gemmological laboratories.
Gübelin Gem Lab further awarded the stone 81.0 points, classified as “Superior”, under its Gemstone Rating system.
